TriExercise - Events Calendar

Here is a list of all of the running events we’re aware of in Wales in the future. We will also include the dates of any triathlons, duathlons, aquathlons and any other relevant events. If we’ve missed something, or you’d like to have your own event listed then let us know.

 

Some events worth noting are the Tour of Pembrokeshire, Bala Standard Distance and Middle Distance triathlons and the Dale ½ marathon.

Triathlon

June 2009

 

14th June
Bala Middle Distance Triathlon (1.9k, 90k, 21k)

 

This race is on the list of “Britains Top Ten Toughest”, a ranking it has certainly earned! Starting in Llyn Tegid, the bike and run take in some of the breath-taking scenery found in the Snowdonia National Park.

July 2009

 

11TH July

Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon (1.5k, 40k, 10k).

 

Set in the coastal village of Broad Haven, this will be a stunning event. There will be a beach swim followed by an undulating bike course to Dale and Milford Haven before a 10k run on the coastal path. A challenging event, but a must for any triathlete!

13th September
Bala Standard Distance Triathln (1.5k, 40k, 10k).

 

This is a tremendously well organized race. Based at Llyn Tegid in Bala, the lake swim is followed by a very fast bike course. This is a great event that always attracts many athletes of all abilities.

Duathlon

 

March 2009

 

29th March

Pembrokeshire Duathlon (5k, 20k, 2.5k)

 

This will be the 2nd running of this event and was a great success in 2008. The run legs are on the traffic free Brunel path, while the cycle is on a very fast 2 lap course. This is a great early season event which provides a great stepping stone to bigger events through the summer.

Cycling

June 2009

 

8th June
Tour of Pembrokeshire Cyclosportif

 

Two routes available- 64 miles and 116 miles. These start from Folly Farm in Begelly and take in all the sights of Pembrokeshire, taking in one or two of the most formidable climbs in the county! A well organized and enjoyable event but be prepard for a challenge!

15th February
Ras Cors Caron ½ Marathon, Tregaron

8th March
Llanelli ½ Marathon

 

With the route going along the Millennium Coastal Path, this event is totally traffic free! With stunning views of the dramatic Carmarthen Bay coastline this event never disappoints. A very well marshaled and expertly organized event.

Pembrokeshire Coastal Marathon, ½ Marathon and 10k

 

Starting from Little Haven in Pembrokeshire, there are 3 race distances available. Following the wild and rambling coastal trails around the Pembrokeshire National Coastal Park, this will be one uplifting, if very tough, event for all abilities!

27th September

Dale ½ Marathon and 10k

 

Set in the seaside village of Dale, Pembrokeshire, this event is a real gem in the calendar and a great way to finish the season. With a field of just 300 athletes this event has a wonderful atmosphere and is very popular with top athletes and total novices alike! Both distances take in the challenging climb to St. Anne’s head before the ½ Marathon heads off onto a challenging loop through the surrounding countryside.
